by: COURTESY OF MICHAEL DEMBROW - State Rep. Michael Dembrow was selected Monday to replace former state Sen. Jackie Dingfelder in North and East Portland.State Rep. Michael Dembrow of Northeast Portland was chosen Monday to replace former state Sen. Jackie Dingfelder, who resigned in October to join Mayor Charlie Hales’ staff.

Dembrow plans to run in the May primary election to fill the remaining three years of Dingfelder’s Senate District 23 four-year term. He was elected in 2008 to represent the state’s House District 45, which includes Northeast Portland, Maywood Park and the Parkrose area.

Multnomah County commissioners chose Dembrow from three possible candidates for the position, which included Enrique Arias and C.M. Hall.

The board will now have to choose a replacement for Dembrow in the House District 45 seat.
