The cold snap across Oregon has closed numerous schools from Astoria to La Pine.

Whole school districts have closed their doors for a number of cold-related reasons.

Eleven school districts in the mid-Willamette Valley are closed - including the Greater Albany, Lebanon, Dallas, and Sheridan schools.

Redmond closed because buses wouldn't start, among other factors.

Bus problems are behind the decision to close all five public schools in La Pine and Sunriver, too.

Winter weather has slammed North and Central coast schools and has closed all public schools in Astoria, Knappa, and Lincoln County.

Colleges are affected, too, with classes canceled at Oregon State University, and Clatsop and Linn-Benton community colleges.

In the Portland area, broken pipes shuttered Stephenson Elementary in Southwest Portland.

A mechanical failure closed Gresham High.

Oak Grove Elementary is dealing with flooding.

Union High in Camas, Washington had to send students home because the heat was broken.
