On Saturday morning, firefighters at the McMinnville Fire Department received a call that their help was needed in getting a cow out of a swimming pool.
On Dec. 28, the cow fell into an in-ground swimming pool, that still had water in it. Although the owner of the cow was able to coax the animal to the shallow end of the pool, he was unable to get it out. After constructing a ramp for the animal to walk out of the pool, firefighters arrived and used straps to guide the cow as it walked up the ramp.
However, about halfway up the ramp, the cow slipped and fell. With everyone lending a helping hand, the cow was pulled up the remainder of the way to safety.
