Oregon distillers find spot on OLCC Top 10 lists

Jack Daniels topped Oregon’s liquor sales by dollar amount, but Hood River’s HRD Vodka sold the most by volume last year, according to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.

OLCC’s top 10 list of top-selling liquor in the state covered the period from Dec. 1, 2012, to Nov. 30, 2013. No. 1 in annual dollar sales was Jack Daniels Old No. 7, bringing in $13.65 million. No. 1 in volume sold is HRD Vodka, which sold 248,641 gallons.

HRD Vodka also was in the No. 6 spot for annual sales, bringing in $9.13 million.

“Spirits produced by Oregon distillers make up almost 12 percent of the overall revenue and 16 percent of the total gallons,” says Steve Marks, OLCC executive director. “With about 55 local distillers in the state, Oregon is one of the leaders in the country for craft distilling.”

The top 10 in dollar sales were:

2. Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, $12.16 million

3. Crown Royal, $11.47 million

4. Pendleton Canadian Whiskey, $9.59 million

5. Smirnoff Vodka 80 proof, $9.16 million

6. H R D Vodka, $9.13 million

7. Jameson Irish Whiskey, $8.12 million

8. Black Velvet, $7.65 million

9. Jagermeister, $7.56 million

10. Seagram’s 7 Crown, $6.91 million

The top 10 in volume (in gallons) were:

1. HRD Vodka, 248,641

2. Fleischmann’s Royal Vodka, 176,211

3. Potters Vodka 80 proof, 159,894

4. Black Velvet, 155,057

5. Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, 142,657
