Gresham police seeking public's help in finding man who grabbed 15-year-old girl
Police are reaching out to the public for help in identifying a man who grabbed a 15-year-old girl yesterday morning in Gresham.
On Tuesday, Gresham police received a call at 10:34 a.m. that a girl had been grabbed from behind by an unknown man as she walked home from school. Fortunately, the girl was able to pull away from her assailant, kick him, and then run for help.
The attack occurred as she was walking home from Springwater Trail High School, which is about a block away from where the attack took place.
After she broke free, she ran to Gordon Russell Middle School for help.
The victim told police that between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m., the suspect came up behind her as she was walking home from school and grabbed her with both arms. She described the suspect as being a male in his 40's, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with thin blond or light brown facial hair. He was wearing a brown baseball cap, a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. The suspect was unknown to the victim.
The Gresham Police Department is seeking any information from anybody who was in the area and who might have seen something suspicious or who believes they may have seen the suspect.
