Old Town drug arrest nets heroin, cocaine
The arrest of a 32-year-old man in Old Town on Wednesday resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of street-level drugs.
On Jan. 15, at approximately 4 p.m., Central Precinct officers contacted and arrested Omar Ayala-Luevano near Northwest Broadway and Burnside Street. Central Precinct officers were familiar with Ayala-Luevano as he was previously arrested on Oct. 18, 2013 at Southwest 12th Avenue and Columbia Street on several drug-related charges.
After his arrest on Wednesday, officers recoverd nearly four ounces of heroin and cocaine along with $720 cash. Investigators believe that this heroin was intended for distribution in Portland and could have had devastating effects on drug addicts.
Ayala-Luevano was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery and Possession of Heroin and Delivery and Possession of Cocaine.
