Man drives through fence fleeing police

by: CLACKAMAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Phillip Lamar Higginbotham drive his car through this fence trying to escape police on Saturday.A Portland man was arrested Saturday morning after driving his car through a fence trying to evade police.

Phillip Lamar Higginbotham, 41, was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail for Felony Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle, Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude on Foot, and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree.

According to the Oregon State Police, at approximately 8:58 a.m. on Jan. 18, an OSP trooper attempted to stop a car for a traffic violation near 82nd Avenue and SE Cornwell Avenue.

The driver, later identified as, Higginbotham attempted to elude on area streets before crashing through a metal fence and abandoning the car. The driver fled on foot for a short distance before he was taken into custody at 9:04 a.m. without further incident.

Higginbotham was arrested with the assistance of Clackamas County Sheriff's Office
