No one was injured, but a Firestone Tire store was damaged by the falling tree.Heavy winds blasting through the Portland area early Thursday morning toppled a large tree in the North Park Blocks, sending it crashing onto a nearby business.

The tree fell at about 5 a.m. March 6, at West Burnside Street and Northwest Park Avenue. It landed on part of a Firestone Tire store.

No one was injured. City crews were removing the tree.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory until 3 p.m. for the Portland area and parts of the Willamette Valley. Winds lashed the Oregon Coast late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, gusting up to 60 mph in some places, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts are expected to hit about 40 mph in some parts of the Willamette Valley Thursday.

In Oregon City, Clackamas Community College classes were canceled Thursday because its campus was hit by a power outage.
