by: KOIN NEWS 6 - One man was injured after his bike ran into a car in Northeast Portland.Police say a bicyclist was injured after riding into a car Thursday afternoon in Northeast Portland.

According to police, at 7:48 p.m. on March 27, North Precinct officers responded to Northeast Killingsworth Street and Cully Boulevard on the report of a traffic crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the bicycle rider, a male in his 20s, suffering from traumatic injuries. He was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately released.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

According to police, preliminary information indicates that the bicycle rider was traveling in a northwesterly direction from Cully Boulevard, across Killingsworth, when he struck the side of the westbound vehicle on Killingsworth. The crash occurred west of the intersection.

Due to the bicycle rider's injuries, the Traffic Division Major Crash Team responded to conduct an investigation into the crash. Killingsworth was closed in both directions into the evening.
