A man was stabbed during a dispute at a Fred Meyer store bottle return area Thursday night.
Police arrested a suspect, who knows the victim.
The names of the victim and suspect were not immediately released. The condition of the victim was not immediately released, either.
According to police, at 9:39 p.m. on March 27, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 5100 block of Southeast 76th Avenue. Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, a male in his 40s or 50s, suffering from stab wounds to the chest. He was transported to a Portland hospital with traumatic but not believed to be life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a male in his 40s, was located in a neighboring apartment and taken into custody without incident.
Officers learned that the two men know each other and were at the Fred Meyer store bottle return area, located at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Foster Road, when they got into a dispute resulting in the stabbing.
Assault Detail detectives are continuing the investigation.
