Police: Women fight over man after Easter church service

by: MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Naomi Etta PerkinsPolice have arrested a woman they say fought with another woman over a man after an Easter church service.

Naomi Etta Perkins, 30, was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

The victim, Anjeanette Marie Brown, 32, suffered a large cut on one of her arms and lost one of her weaved hair braids.

According to police, at 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, East Precinct officers responded to Oliver Elementary School, located at 15840 Southeast Taylor Street, where the Life Restoration Church holds church service. Officers were responding to the report that two women had been involved in a fight, and one of the women had been cut with a razor blade.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, who was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment to her non-life-threatening injury. The suspect was arrested.

Officers learned that Perkins and Brown, who know each other, had a dispute after church over a man known to both of them. Perkins used a razor blade to cut one of Brown's braids off of her head. As the two struggled, Perkins cut Brown on one of her arms, causing a significant injury.

Detectives believe some witnesses may have left the church without speaking with police. Anyone with information about this assault is asked to contact Detective Jeff Sharp at (503) 823-9773 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
