Police are increasing security at Portland schools in the wake of the shootings at Reynolds High School that took the live of a student and the suspect.
Security will be increased at schools in the Portland School District, David Douglas School District, Parkrose School District, and some of the Reynolds School District until the end of the school year.
According to police, the Portland Police Bureau Youth Services Division, as well as all officers from all three precincts, will provide an additional presence at the schools to assure students, parents and teachers that they are in a safe environment for the remainder of the school year.
Police say there is no specific information or concerns about violence at any of the schools.
Anyone seeing anything suspicious is asked to immediately call 9-1-1, however.
