Employees detain man trying to rob pizza restaurant
Police have arrested a 60-year-old man for robbing a downtown pizza restaurant Saturday evening.
Ronald Sutton is charged with Robbery in the Second Degree.
According to police, at 7:28 p.m. on June 21, Central Precinct officers responded to Hot Lipps Pizza, located at 633 Southwest 19th Avenue, on the report of a robbery.
Officers arrived in the area and contacted employees, who had detained the suspect, later identified as Sutton. The employees told police that the suspect entered the business, implied he had a gun, and demanded money.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect attempted to leave the area but was detained by employees until police arrived. No gun was located on the suspect.
