Police looking for additional sex crime victims
Police are searching for possible additional victims of a Southeast Portland pastor arrested for sex crimes.
Michael George Sperou, 64, was arrested by Portland Police Bureau Sex Crimes Unit detectives on three counts of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree on June 19. The arrest stems from a series of 1997 police reports involving juvenile girls who lived within the Southeast Bible Church community, now known as the North Clackamas Bible Community.
At the time of his arrest, Sperou was a senior pastor at the church.
The churches have operated in Southeast Portland and Happy Valley between 1980 and 2014.
Detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims who have not reported similar crimes to police.
