Police search for stabbing uspect

Police are searching for the suspect in an early Sunday morning stabbing in Southeast Portland.

The name of the victim, a 32-year-old male, was not immediately released. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a short black male, approximately 30-years of age, wearing a red shirt and black shorts.

According to police, at about 2:55 a.m. on Aug. 10, East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 2900 Block of Southeast 121st Avenue on a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived and found the victim. The suspect had fled the area.

Based on the initial investigation, it appears the assault occurred as the result of an argument between the victim, a resident of the location, and the suspect. The two appear to be acquaintances.

Officers used K-9 cars and attempted to contain the area, but the suspect was not captured. The case is under investigation.
