DUII driver crashes into house
A suspected drunk driver crashed into a Northeast Portland house early Tuesday.
No one was injured in the crash, which heavily damaged the house and vehicle.
Sarah Ruth Rascoe, 33, is charged with Attempt to Elude by Vehicle, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, DUII, Driving While Suspended, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, and Reckless Driving.
According to police, at 3:12 a.m. on Aug. 26, North Precinct officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Halsey Street, after observing the driver, later identified as Rascoe, operating the vehicle recklessly.
The driver did not stop and a short pursuit followed, ending when the driver attempted to make a left turn, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a house at Northeast 92nd Avenue and Eugene Street.
Although the residents were inside the home, they were not injured and the driver was taken into custody.
