Two held in early morning N. Portland shooting
Two men were arrested early Monday morning after a North Portland shooting.
No one was injured in the shooting that happened at about 1:28 a.m., Sept. 4, near 7000 block of North Woolsey Avenue.
Portland police said 23-year-old Tyler D. Bristow and 25-year-old Jeffrey L. Putman were taken into custody after the shooting. Bristow was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and discharging a firearm in the city.
Putman was also booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, discharging a firearm in the city and a parole violation for a second-degree assault conviction.
According to police, a North Precinct officer was in the 4300 block of North Lombard Street when he heard gunshots and saw a vehicle leave the area. Other officers converged on the area and a Multnomah County Sheriff's deputy saw a red 2004 Chevrolet Impala driving away.
Officers and the deputy stopped the red Impala near North Willamette Boulevard and North Alma Avenue, detained three occupants and found a handgun inside.
