Second person killed in Monday crash identifed
Police have identified the second person killed in a two-vehicle crash in Northeast Portland on Monday night where four other people were injured.
He is Quilly T. Lucas, 42, of Fairview.
Previously, police said Akeeylee Burton, 12, of Scapoose was killed.
The other victims have not been identified.
According to police, investigators have learned a gold 2003 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Northeast Lombard Street at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a blue 1988 F350 pickup truck traveling east on Northeast Lombard Street, causing catastrophic damage to both vehicles.
Burton was a passenger in the truck. Lucas was a passenger in the car.
The crash closed the area are Northeast 15th Avenue and Lombard Street for several hours.
Police say North Precinct officers reponded to the report of the crash at 8:46 p.m on Sept. 18. When first responders arrived, they found two people who were deceased and four people with serious, life-threatening injuries who were transported to area hospitals by ambulances.
Portland Fire & Rescue said several people were trapped and injured in the vehilces, but crews were able to get them out and take them to the hospital.
Northeast Lombard was closed from Northeast 13th Avenue to Northeast 18th Avenue, and Northeast 15th was closed from Northeast Lombard to Northeast Buffalo Street for four hours while the major crimes team investigated the crash.
Those killed in this crash mark the 30th and 31st traffic related fatalities in Portland during 2017.
