From adventurous day trips around Oregon to exercise classes at the center, there is truly something for everyone

From indoor skydiving and covered bridge tours to boat cruises in the Gorge, the travel opportunities and experiences that participants can discover are limitless and exciting. The center's group travel program offers enjoyment, enrichment and companionship.

Upcoming adult day trips include St. Patrick's Day lunch at Kells Brew Pub followed by dessert at Salt & Straw, iFly Indoor Skydiving, Oregon Culinary Institute lunch and tour, Franz Bakery tour and lunch and more.

This year's regional (all-day) excursions include Pike Place Market and Harbor Cruise in Seattle (May 20), Crater Lake National Park (July 8), Wildlife Safari in Winston (Sept. 9) and a Day Cruise Adventure to Astoria (Oct. 11).

Another option is the Day Trekkers hiking group that ventures to picturesque destinations in Oregon twice a month. This year's spring hikes include hiking along the shore of the Molalla River at Molalla River State Park, non-stop wildflower and Columbia River views at Rowena Plateau, and walking behind a waterfall at Silver Falls State Park.

Transportation and supervision is provided on all of the adult day trips and hikes, so participants are able to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. For more information about adult day trips, regional excursions and Day Trekkers, please visit

Besides day trips, the Juanita Pohl Centeralso offers a variety of classes to suit the active aging population.

The Juanita Pohl Center offers fitness classes Monday through Saturday, with a broad range of different intensity options available with certified instructors. The center is also a participating location for SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit health plans. Gentle Yoga, Veterans Yoga and Tai Chi: Moving For Better Balance provide a lower-impact, more relaxing workout that focuses on stretching, flexibility and balance.

SilverSneakers Classic, Silver&Fit Level 3 Excel and BOOM Muscle & Move It are beginner- to moderate-level classes that emphasize muscular strength, endurance and cardiovascular training for active adults. The center also offers Boomer BEAT! and dance fitness classes during the week that focus on dance-based cardio fitness and provide a fun, easy-to-do workout.

Fitness punch passes can be purchased for as low as $2 a class, and participants are welcome to try out their first class for free.

Participating in the any one of the fitness classes held at the Juanita Pohl Center is a great way to meet new people, socialize and stay healthy, fit and active.
