by: DAVID F. ASHTON - Volunteer Michael Asay checks in Llewellyn Principal Joe Galati.Llewellyn Elementary School families, friends, and supporters, turned out in big numbers at the Oaks Park Dance Pavilion on the evening of April 26, decked out to enjoy the school’s casino-themed fund-raiser.

Westmoreland neighbor and event organizer Lisa Osterberg said she took on the duty being the Chair of the Llewellyn Foundation Auction Committee because her kids attend the school.

“It’s important to have an event like this, so we can raise money to support our school and our teachers,” Osterberg said. “It’s important for our kids to get a good education.”

The money raised during this, the school’s key fundraising event, helps the foundation keep teachers in the school. “It also helps fund outings, field trips, and school needs, such as art and music supplies – items that the school can’t provide.”

In total, about forty volunteers helped put on “Casino Night” at Oaks Park.
