It was planned as a pop-up shop; it's about to pop off, but its parent mall continues

RITA A. LEONARD - Co-owner Brent Heeb is closing Stars Too Antiques in Westmoreland, which started as a pop-up Christmas shop five years ago; but his nearby Stars Mall continues. After five years in the antique business, "Stars Too Antiques" at 7011 S.E. Milwaukie Avenue in Westmoreland is closing.

Owners Brent and Darwin Heeb tell THE BEE they are happy to be simplifying. "We started this as a 'pop-up' Christmas shop about five years ago in November, thinking it would only last a few months," explains Brent. "We'll be out of here at the end of August -- but we'll still have a space at Stars Mall, 7027 S.E. Milwaukie Avenue.

"This store's address is already rented to Cotton Caboodle, a factory clothing store right around the corner," he continues. "Everything here is at 20-50% off, kind of like a 'Christmas in August' event. We're bringing out all our Holiday items, and are willing to dicker. Come on in and enjoy our air conditioning. We're open daily, 11 a.m. till 6 p.m."
