Three arrested in Rainier after deputies conduct traffic stop
Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges in Rainier on Sunday, Feb. 4, after Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a vehicle search following a reported disturbance.
At 10:05 a.m. Sunday morning, CCSO responded to a reported disturbance on Gregory Road in Rainier and located a car suspected to be connected to the call.
Deputies saw a methamphetamine pipe on the front seat of the car and subsequently conducted a search. Between the vehicle and its occupants, deputies found two handguns, ammunition, multiple methamphetamine pipes and four baggies containing a substance suspected to be methamphetamine. The car's three occupants were arrested on various charges.
Craig Roberts, 49, of Rainier, was arrested on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
Randall Schwirse, 43, of Deer Island, was arrested for violation of a release agreement.
Jennifer Dewey, 37, of St. Helens, was arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
By Tuesday, Feb. 6, none of the individuals were listed in custody at the Columbia County Jail.
