In brief: St. Helens arts commission accepting applications
The project-oriented commission holds meetings at 5 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month. The most recently completed project was the multi-phase project Gateway Sculpture Project, which features art installations along Highway 30.
Large projects like this involve most members of the group and require work outside of the meetings. Other small-scale projects include community art competitions, trashcan painting and pumpkin-carving contests.
Applications for the commission can be found on the city's website. Applications are due by Friday, Feb. 23, at 5 p.m. or can be mailed to: City Hall, Attn: Kathy Payne, P.O. Box 278, 265 Strand St., St. Helens, OR 97051.
