Letter: Sen. Johnson to speak at Veterans Breakfast
Johnson to speak at Veterans Breakfast at Village Inn
Veterans in Columbia County: Be informed that on Sept.1 at 8 a.m. at the Village Inn in St. Helens, there will be the monthly Veterans Breakfast.
This month our special guest speaker will be Sen. Betsy Johnson who will grace our gathering and spend some early morning time with the breakfast club.
Senator Johnson has always referred to us as "her veterans," and she has maintained a special relationship with those who have served this nation. She will be discussing the recent legislative funding for Oregon Veterans Affairs.
I'm sure she will entertain some questions, so if you have some, come prepared.
The breakfast is open to anyone who would like to attend. Being a veteran is not a requirement for entrance and everyone is very welcome.
The Village Inn reserves a large banquet room each First Friday for the breakfast and current topics pertinent to veterans are discussed.
It is not uncommon to have 30 to 40 attendees, so don't be late. I get there before 7:30 a.m. to insure I get my breakfast in a timely manner. With that many folks descending on the restaurant, try to be early so the kitchen can produce the fine meal the Village Inn is known for.
See you there.
