Inclement weather makes changes in athletic schedules

Due to all the snow and ice, scheduling games and meets has been a bit difficult. We've compiled all the updated schedules.

It's been a wild and frigid week in south Columbia County, and as the snow begins to fall once again on Monday afternoon, the athletics schedules at Scappoose and St. Helens high schools continue to shift. The OSAA's inclement weather policy doesn't ban athletic events on days the schools are forced to close, but leaves the decision up to the administration at each school involved. However, it's safe to say that, should school be cancelled for the day, the athletic events will be cancelled or postponed as well.

Here are all the changes so far:

Boys' Basketball:

Dec. 6 – Scappoose at St. Helens, postponed to Thursday, Dec. 12.

Dec. 9 – Scappoose vs. Roosevelt, postponed to Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Dec. 11 – St. Helens at Madison, postponed with no reschedule date yet.

Girls' basketball:

Dec. 9 – Scappoose at Roosevelt, postponed with no reschedule date yet.

Dec. 11 – St. Helens vs. Hood River, postponed with no reschedule date yet.

Swimming:

Dec. 7 – Scappoose at Tillamook cancelled, possible entry in Cheese Relays in January.

Wrestling:

Dec. 7 – Scappoose at Estacada cancelled, still looking for a new meet.

Dec. 14 – St. Helens at North Marion cancelled, replaced with Dec. 13 meet at Milwaukie.
