With the Northwest Oregon Conference championships a week away, the Lions finished up the dual meet season on the downswing as they prep for the next step, falling to Sandy 49-25.

St. Helens got off to a good start, winning the first two matches, but failed to win consecutive bouts for the remainder of the dual. Cody Jackson got a pin midway through the second round, and freshman Myles Terry remained in the ranks of the unbeaten with a first-round pin of Sandy's Rhett Schilperoort. Mario Olmedo rounded off the Lions' wins by fall with a pin of Sandy's Dalton Davis in just 58 seconds.

St. Helens will have a week off before heading to Wilsonville High School on Feb. 21 and 22 for the district championships.
