The traveling Brew Crew of Beaverton rolled to gold at the fourth Donna Gedlich Memorial Bocce Tournament on Saturday, July 22, at Scappoose Veterans Park.

The foursome played through the round robin bracket and, when the last points were scored, Palle Fellici, also of Beaverton, came up second and Italia Uno of Longview, Wash., went third.

"The three teams with the most wins and points came away with medals and ribbons to brag about their success," bocce enthusiast and tournament host Bill Marinelli said. "The two Columbia County teams, Vellator and Amicizia, played hard and enjoyed finishing as winners too as we all made new friends and learned some new tricks of the game."

The tournament honors Donna Gedlich, a former City of Scappoose recorder and city council member who passed away in 2014.
