The new restaurant is expected to create more than 50 new jobs

SUBMITTED PHOTO - Panera Bread officially opened in Parkway Village at Sherwood on April 24. Panera Bread plans to open its Sherwood location in Parkway Village at Sherwood at 6 a.m. on April 24, according to a company official.

"We are very excited to be coming to Sherwood in just a couple short weeks," said Dan Hanratty, director of operations for Manna NW LLC, the parent company of Panera Bread. "There will be seating for over 120 guests inside the cafe and additional seating on our patio."

Hanratty said the restaurant, which will feature drive thru and rapid pick-up options, will bring more than 50 new jobs to the Sherwood area.

The new restaurant will open next door to The Old Spaghetti Factory.

"We look forward to making a positive impact in the community and can't wait to start serving our guests our 100 percent clean food," said Hanratty of a menu that is highlighted by whole grain bread, select organic and all-natural ingredients, and for serving chicken raised without antibiotics.

Last summer, Hanratty said Sherwood was a good fit for the company because of the demographic of young families in the city.

The 4,200-square-foot restaurant is the 16th Panera Bread bakery-café location in the Portland and Southwest Washington area.
