COURTESY TVF&R - Firefighters from Station 33 clean up following a fire Nov. 25 fire in Sherwood on Price Avenue. Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Station 33 in Sherwood responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 23000 block of Southwest Price Avenue in Sherwood on Saturday shortly before noon.

Arriving within minutes after being dispatched, they found smoke coming from the second story of a single-family dwelling. They initiated an aggressive interior fire attack, and quickly brought the fire under control, according to a TVF&R spokesperson.  The residents made it outside safely and no injuries were reported.

While the fire was contained to the upper level of the structure, the residents were unable to return to their home because of extensive smoke damage.

The American Red Cross assisted the family with temporary housing needs. A TVF&R fire investigator is currently working to determine the cause, fire officials reported.  The structure had a working smoke alarm.
