Festival organizers are seeking volunteers for the popular annual Robin Hood Festival.

PHOTO COURTESY CITY OF SHERWOOD - Volunteers are being sought for the annual Robin Hood Festival. As the New Year begins, dedicated volunteers already are launching active planning for the Robin Hood Festival this summer — a non-profit Sherwood tradition since 1954. Old Town events will take place July 20 and 21, with the International Archery Tournament with Nottingham England planned for July 21 and 22.

Festival officials welcome new volunteers to the merry band of creative event planners, project leads, administrative assistants and interns. The festival committee is in service to Sherwood year-round.

Regional attendance continues to grow at the events, with at least 20,000 people expected again this year for the summer festival. There also are many help-at-home tasks that can be of assistance, even for people with busy schedules.

Everyone is welcome at the monthly meetings held the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Sherwood-Midday Masonic Lodge in downtown Sherwood.
