SHERWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - Sherwood Chamber of Commerce The Sherwood Area Chamber of Commerce is offering an opportunity to experience the Chinese culture, history and businesses.

Through a partnership with Citslinc International, the chamber is offering a cost-effective trip to China from Oct. 15 through 24. The tour includes stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou with opportunities to visit historic sites such as the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square.

"We're excited to organize a Sherwood China Trip," said Lana Painter, the chamber's chief executive officer. "I am very excited to go on this trip. I hear from other chamber executives that this is a trip of a lifetime. In October 2018 our trip will be an excellent opportunity to see China. It's extremely affordable and includes visits to major cities, various economic zones and major historical sites."

The trip includes airfare from Seattle, hotel accommodations at four- and five-star hotels, three full meals each day, and professional drivers and tour operators. The cost is $2,199 and includes all except $39 gratuity.

A valid passport and visa are required. There is a $100 discount if paid in full by cash or check.

Some of the highlights include visiting the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs and The Bund. "Walking on the Great Wall of China is a pretty surreal experience, and the ancient architecture is mind-blowing," said Justin Aufdermauer, Tillamook Area Chamber executive director, who went on this trip in 2014.

The chamber is hosting an informational meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Rebekah Lodge from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Leo Liu, owner of Citslinc, will be answering questions regarding the trip.
