Spring into this fun, art-filled tradition in Sherwood. The Old Town Sherwood Spring Art Walk will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Old Town Sherwood. Art Walk has become a favorite local outing for art lovers of all ages. Art Walk invites art enthusiasts and community members to stroll through Old Town on the Art Walk route. At each of the Art Walk stops, participants will get to view local art, chat with artists, participate in interactive activities, listen to live music, enjoy food and beverages from Old Town locations and even choose to purchase a piece of art. Pick up a map of the route at any participating business, and visit each stop to get a stamp. Then, turn in a finished map to enter to win a fantastic prize basket. Prizes from many local Sherwood businesses will be up for grabs.

"An American in Paris" on the big screen

Join the Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 5, to enjoy a classic movie musical, "An American in Paris," with music by George and Ira Gershwin and starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. It contains some of the most remarkable dance sequences in film history. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $3 for all ages and can be purchased online or at the door. Sweet treats and popcorn will be available for purchase.

"Those Who Teach" gallery opening and reception

Come enjoy the next exhibit at the Sherwood Center for the Arts, featuring various instructors throughout the Sherwood area. A reception for "Those Who Teach" will occur from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and is free and open to the public. Meet the artists, curators and other art lovers, and enjoy light refreshments and live acoustic music in the lobby. This exhibit features a handful of incredibly talented arts instructors. These great instructors teach all forms of art at the Sherwood Center for the Arts and surrounding studios and schools within the Sherwood School District.

This show will include various forms, styles and mediums of art, creating a diverse experience for all who enter our gallery. The instructor show will run from May 2 to July 1.

"Spring into the Arts" classes

It's time to spring into action and get creative at the Center for the Arts. Registration for spring classes is now open. Browse through the online catalog and try something new. Explore painting, ceramics, photography, performing arts and more — there's a little bit of something for everyone. Spring classes start the first week of April, so get registered soon.
