Shannon Kasier made the list at the end of December.

Less than four years ago, Kaiser was climbing the corporate ladder while working 80 hours a week, and living in Chicago, Illinois. She was working at one of the largest advertising agencies in the world. By night though, she was overdosing on drugs, binge-eating and -purging just to escape the sinking feeling that she hated her life.

She said she left her depression in Chicago and returned Sherwood to be with family and find her true path as a writer. Today she lives a much different life in Portland, free of addictions and eating disorders, working as an international life coach, a motivational speaker and a new type of guru for people who want more out of life.

Named “a new thought leader on the rise,” by Café Truth, and dubbed the “Joy Guru” by Balboa Press, Kasier she is carving out sunshine for those feeling stuck and unfulfilled with their life’s direction. Kaiser shares her personal experiences through her uplifting articles, blog posts, books, podcasts, lectures and SUBMITTED PHOTO - Shannon Kaiser's 'Find Your Happy' has made several bestseller lists on

Kaiser documents her transformation and the steps she took to pull out of clinical depression in her self-published book, “Find Your Happy, an Inspirational Guide to Loving Life to its Fullest, which reached best-seller status on Amazon ranking No. 8 in its inspirational category, No. 13 in religion and spirituality and No. 37 in motivational self-help as of Dec 29, 2013.

“I pitched my book concept for “Find Your Happy” to dozens of literary agents and publishers,” Kaiser said in a press release. “After a lot of rejection letters, I realized I have to honor my own path and ‘find my happy,’ which meant publishing my book myself and getting this message out to people no matter what. It is amazing to see this book doing so well. My goal is to leave readers feeling inspired, positive and empowered.”

Kaiser is the founder of the inspirational self-help travel website, recently names top 100 self-help blogs on the Internet by the Institute of Psychology of Eating, where she blogs, shares free videos and podcasts about her life adventures, and tips to help followers remove fear and follow their heart in order to reach their goals.
