Get your motor runnin' for Cruisin' Sherwood set June 10
The 27th Annual Les Schwab Tire Centers' Cruisin' Sherwood Classic & Custom Car Show is set for Saturday, June, 10 in Old Town Sherwood beginning at 9 a.m.
Whether you enjoy looking at the classic and custom cars, hearing the Engine Blow Contest, smelling the burning rubber at the Burnout Contest, listening to music or having a bite to eat, Cruisin' is a blast for all.
Classic cars provide attendees with the opportunity to sample automotive history, featuring cars that may date to the earliest days of motorized transportation.
Custom cars are the car lovers pride and joy. Displaying a particular art in bringing new life to old cars, updating cars with the latest in shiny details and maybe even a chance to brag about the countless hours spent working on your prized possession.
Wake up early on Saturday to enjoy the traditional five-second "Horn Blow," kicking off the event at 9 a.m. Downtown Sherwood and its streets welcome for the day close to 450 head turning, and eye-brow raising cars line the streets of Old Town Sherwood.
Where else can you relive automobile history and show the younger generation a car that did not drive itself?
Play the guessing game on the make, model, and year of the cars. Marvel at the detail, time and money these car lovers put into their vehicles.
For many, this is not just a hobby but a real love of the beauty and wonder of the car and its history.
Cars are not the only reason to enjoy Cruisin' Sherwood; there are also vendor booths for arts, crafts, home and personal products, and car related products.
The Sherwood Walmart-sponsored Kids Zone is the perfect place for shows, music, games, a star photo booth, and a prize wheel. The stage in the Kids Zone hosts entertainment geared toward the younger set.
Did you only come for the cars? Well, that's a shame because many of the food vendors inspire attendees to come to Cruisin' not only for the cars, but for their food. From the hand-dipped ice cream bars to amazing gyros to fresh squeezed juice and head-turning plates of noodles, experiencing the food is a must.
When you need a breather, head over to the stage to hear some bands. It's a chance to rest while you consider staying late for the beer garden.
