The 2017 Oregon City boys track team has now traveled where no Pioneers have gone before.
Where, you ask, did OC travel? All the way to a state championship.
The rest of the state's top 10 teams included: Central Catholic 37, Sheldon 34, Newberg 30, Tigard 28, West Salem 28, Franklin 24 and Sunset 23.
Leaders for the Pioneers included: Rieker Daniel, first in the 200 meters and second in the 100; Jake Harthun, second in the 400; and Mark Mironichenko, Daniel, Israel Miles and Harthun, third in the 4 x 100 relay.
Winners on the track were: Anthony Albright of Beaverton in the 100 at 10:54; Daniel in the 200 at 21.49; Braden Lenzy of Tigard in the 400 at 47.92; Henry Mong of Franklin in the 800 at 1:52.78; Mong in the 1,500 at 3:50.52; Joshua Schumacher of Jesuit in the 3,000 at 8:29.91; Carter Bracken of Lake Oswego in the 110 high hurdles at 14.24; Ryan Cavinta of Tualatin in the 300 intermediate hurdles at 37.85; Beaverton's 4 x 100 relay team of Mataio Talalemotu, Carson Crawford, Lucas Radostitz and Albright at 42.41; and the Central Catholic 4 x 400 relay team of Austin Hill, Parker Mann, Korbin Williams and William Mundy at 3:22.20.
Winners in field events were: Beau Sheeran of Beaverton in the high jump at 6 feet, 7 inches; Simon Park of South Eugene in the pole vault at 16-2; Jacob Williams of Sheldon in the long jump at 22-9.75; Joseph Harris of Gresham in the triple jump at 47-0.75; Tyler Sconce of Roseburg in the shot put at 55-09; Austin Kleinman of Sprague in the discus at 168-6; and Sawyer Christopher of Lincoln in the javelin at 189-11.
