TV show tells plight of Oregon's wild horses
Oregon Field Guide will highlight the plight of wild horses in the state, in a half-hour video special airing at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 on Oregon Public Broadcasting.
The show, entitled Mustangs of Oregon, will explain why many wild horses are captured and forced to live in permanent government custody. More wild horses now live in captivity than those allowed to roam free on the range. Many of them die in captivity during Bureau of Land Management corrals and roundups.
OPB will supplement the Oregon Field Guide show with a series of radio shorts and other material on its website, leading up to the Feb. 6 premiere.
