Solar trade group gets new leadership
Longtime ratepayer advocate Jeff Bissonnette has been named the new executive director of the states solar energy trade group, the Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association.
Bissonnette worked the past 17 years for the Citizens Utility Board of Oregon, which advocates for residential utility ratepayers. He has worked on issues before the Oregon Public Utility Commission and on energy matters before the Oregon Legislature. In that capacity, he worked with others to help create the Energy Trust of Oregon and the Renewable Portfolio Standard.
OSEIA has been without an executive director for some time due to budget cuts, managed by its board and Craig Ernst, development director.
Bissonnette steps up to run the organization on Feb. 1.
