Science talks at the pub, very popular these days in Portland, are expanding to the suburbs.

Tualatin Riverkeepers hosts a talk on pesticides, clean water and healthy habitat at Max's Fanno Creek Brew Pub in Tigard, Thursday, Feb. 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Sharon Selvaggio, the water and wildlife program director of the Northwest Center for Alternatives to Pesticides. The pub is located on 12562 S.W. Main St.

Selvaggio will discuss the organization’s efforts to protect waterways and wildlife from pesticides, including endangered fish and bees, and achieve stronger federal regulation and monitoring of pesticides.
