Chariteas expands services and hours

Chariteas’ new services include breakfast six days a week. The tea shop also has added new hours of operation for the convenience of its customers.

The new hours include opening at 7:30 a.m. each day Monday through Saturday. The tea shop closes at 4 p.m. Mondays and at 7 p.m. each of the other days it is open.

Among the delectable items on the breakfast menu are a homemade (soft and flaky) butter croissant, a ham sandwich with two cheeses wrapped with a croissant, a plate of fresh fruit, homemade granola, a ricotta Belgian waffle, oatmeal, a sautéed vegetarian quiche and the famous Baconater Quiche. Also tempt your taste buds with freshly-squeezed orange juice.

Chariteas is at 38687 Proctor Blvd. For more information, call 503-826-1900 or visit the website at chariteaspot.com.

Lost in the cloud?

Visit the chamber

The next Brown Bag Lunch sponsored by the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce will reduce the anxiety many feel when people are talking about “the cloud.”

No, it’s not something that floats overhead on a rainy day.

No, we’re not talking about that big, long word that starts with cumulo and ends with nimbus.

The cloud is the latest big thing in Internet technology and computing, and every business owner should be aware of how his or her business could be affected or benefited by using the cloud.

During its monthly Brown Bag Lunch, the chamber is bringing in an expert, Matt Wilson of Brightstar Consulting, who will shed light and answer all questions on “the cloud.”

The Brown Bag Lunch will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, in the chamber office, 38963 Pioneer Blvd.
