Suburban Auto donates $6,130 for breast cancer research
In the 50 years Suburban Auto Group has been a part of the Sandy community, the dealership has gained a reputation for championing several local causes.
Most recently, Suburban donated $6,130 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a charity the group has partnered with for the past four years, working to raise $24,130 for breast cancer research.
"We just thought it's a very important cause and we wanted to get behind it," said Erinn Sowle, general manager of Suburban Ford. "We thought it was a way Suburban could get in on the national momentum and give back on a local level."
In May, the business also gave $25,000 to Guide Dogs for the Blind, and they also have donated money to Mt. Hood Community College and created scholarships for graduates of Gresham Barlow, Sandy and Estacada high schools.
"Giving back to the community is very much a part of our corporate culture," Sowle added.
Suburban is now accepting unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items for the Sandy Kiwanis Christmas Basket Program at either the Suburban Ford or Chevrolet side of the dealership, 37000 Highway 26.
