Cedar Ridge welcomes community to open house
Now that Cedar Ridge Middle School students and teachers have been in their new home at 17100 Bluff Road for almost two months, the staff is inviting the community to an open house.
From 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, the school will be open with staff and leadership students on hand to answer questions about the new building and give tours to those who haven't yet seen the school. The event will open with a ribbon cutting and refreshments.
"I'm excited that a lot of our parents were students in the building," said Principal Nicole Johnston.
Johnston noted that she's been happy to see students getting accustomed to the more spacious halls and classrooms of the old Sandy High School.
"The kids have transitioned exceptionally well," Johnston explained. "It feels like forever ago that we were in the old building."
Johnston added that she is also looking forward to the few other finishing touches the school still has coming.
"I really hope people come and check it out," she said. "I think the community is going to be pleasantly surprised."
