Stone Soup show performed by young Sandy thespians at Seed to Supper community event last Friday

To celebrate the harvest season and all that the Sandy area has to offer, AntFarm and the Sandy Public Library staff held a Seed to Supper community dinner on Friday, Oct. 6, at the Mount Hood Farmers Market.

Many came out to explore the farmers market before a group of Sandy children opened the affair with the play "Stone Soup." The bands Smut City Jellyroll Society and Leslie Lusk played music while attendees enjoyed dinner by Mt. Hood Meadows Executive Chef Daniel R. DeHay.

POST PHOTO: BRITTANY ALLEN - Several families and community members came out to enjoy live entertainment, a locally sourced supper and the company of their neighbors.The menu included two kinds of soup — a hearty winter vegetable and a pumpkin soup — served with rustic pita bread from AntFarm's bakery and traditional Mediterranean hummus with lemon and olive oil.

All food was prepared with local ingredients, and the event was made possible with a grant from the Oregon Food Bank.
