Wrestlers finish third at home tourney
The Sandy High wrestling team came in third with 159.5 points — a half-point behind Canby — at Saturday's home Robert Paul Invitational.
The Pioneers won three weight classes with Jack Rademacher (182) pinning his finals opponent Junior Scott out of The Dalles in only 44 seconds.
Hunter Rickman (132) scored a 21-9 major decision over Aloha's Joshua Rudnick in the finals.
Levi Rotzien (138) took home Sandy's other title with pins against all four of his opponents, including a fall over Hillsboro's Nick Peterson with 0:09 on the clock in the second round of the title bout.
Aloha won the tournament with 218 points.
• Sandy wrapped up its league season earlier in the week with a 54-12 win over Rex Putnam.
The Pioneers finished the league season in second place with a 5-1 dual-meet record.
