I'm pleased to announce that our office, ComForCare Home Care of Portland, recently completed corporate certification in DementiaWise, ComForCare's comprehensive care program designed to enhance the lives of those living with dementia.

"Using research-based behavioral interventions, DementiaWise teaches ComForCare caregivers to understand and anticipate changes caused by dementia," said Deborah Bier, Ph.D, a psychotherapist and ComForCare director of special populations. "The program teaches caregivers and their family members how to use compassionate, practical strategies to reduce challenging to reduce challenging behaviors associated with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia."

DementiaWise encourages the use of a client's remaining skills and abilities. Our goal is to create better days for the client and their family members.

ComForCare services are available around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. We can provide same-day home care, transition-of-care (such as transportation home after a discharge) or assist with many other needs that arise when a your loved one is in crisis.
