The school is offering tours of the new school Aug. 13 and 20 at 7 p.m.Construction crews have been working for months on remodeling City Bible Church near the Pacific Highway off-ramp to Highway 217 in Tigard. The church will become the permanent home for Westside Christian High School later this year, and the public is invited to two special tours of the construction over the next two weeks.

On Tuesdays, Aug. 13 and 20, tours will be available of the new facilities to give students — as well as curious neighbors — the chance to see what’s in store for the former General Motors building.

“After 31 years, we’re getting our own home,” said Westside Christian High School President Andy Sears, in a statement. “We are about halfway done with the renovation and construction at the new site and plan to move in right after Christmas. We’ve had many requests to tour the new property, so we decided to host two public tours to give people the opportunity to see what we are doing. We couldn’t be more excited. The facility that is unfolding before our eyes will expand our ability to fulfill our vision.”

The new school, located at 8200 S.W. Pfaffle St., is expected to cost Westside $12.2 million when construction wraps up.

It’s a substantial renovation, with specialty classrooms being created for science, visual arts, choir and drama. Crews are widening hallways to accommodate the school’s student body, and building a new gymnasium, fitness center, locker rooms, science labs and library.

Tours of the new facility begin at 7 p.m., people interested in touring are asked to RSVP by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or calling 503.697.4711 ext. 249.
