Tualatin Crawfish Festival has set a date for its 64h year, the annual event will move up a week, and is scheduled for Aug. 1-3.

The festival is under new management. Although it has been organized by the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce for the past 25 years, the chamber announced in July it was seeking to pass the oven mitts and boiling pot to a new festival leader and selected Mike Higgins and Social Media Northwest to take on the tradition.

Higgins suggested many changes to the festival, including a three-day format, with activities scheduled for Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Higgins said there would be no parade this year, citing flagging participation.

Higgins plans to introduce a food cart court and a beer and wine event, concurrent with the festival.
