Police: Five arrested in Tualatin linked to stolen vehicles
Five people from across Oregon, including two Forest Grove residents, were jailed after Tualatin police officers allegedly found them with four stolen vehicles early Thursday morning, May 4.
Police officers were originally dispatched to investigate a report of people looking into the windows of cars outside Motel 6, 17959 S.W. McEwan Road, just after 2 a.m. Upon investigating, they discovered that the group was "associated" with stolen vehicles in the parking lot, including two motorcycles.
Arrested were Eric Edward Mottau, 41, of Portland; Jason John Trickel, 37, of Pendleton; Landon Heath Higgins, 21, of Clackamas; and Katherine Lee Colwell and Alexander Phillip Sparks, both 25 and both of Forest Grove.
Sparks was arraigned Friday, May 5, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle. According to police, Mottau also faces charges of unlawful use of a vehicle and unlawful entry to a vehicle.
Higgins and Colwell were arrested for possession of a controlled substance, while Trickel was arrested on outstanding warrants, police said. Sparks also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
All five suspects were lodged in the Washington County Jail.
