No charges for uninsured Tualatin driver who killed pedestrian
Oregon State Police say a Tualatin man driving an SUV uninsured through Gladstone will face no criminal charges after he hit and killed a Milwaukie man who was out walking his dog on McLoughlin Boulevard (Highway 99E) Wednesday night.
Brady A. Lauderdale, 32, and his passenger, Crystal M. Lauderdale, 37 of Tualatin, were traveling southbound on 99E just south of Hull Avenue, when they hit the Milwaukie man and his dog with their black 2001 Acura MDX, according to OSP. Lauderdale received a citation for driving uninsured, but there were no criminal charges related to this incident, said OSP Sgt. Jeff Proulx.
Lauderdale's criminal record includes a guilty plea in 2007 for frequenting a place where controlled substances are used in Clackamas County.
Milwaukie resident Cory L. Philpott, 54, was walking his dog in Gladstone around 9 p.m. when he was hit. The man was taken by ambulance to OHSU where he later died. The dog also died from its injuries.
The road was closed for three hours while OSP investigated the crash assisted by local agencies.
