Oregon Children's Theatre will present "Pete the Cat: The Musical" beginning Saturday, Jan. 20.

Based on a popular children's book series, "Pete the Cat" will feature a live band, family-friendly music and an upbeat message.

"(The music) makes me laugh while being so groovy," said Director Jessica Wallenfels, the show's director, in a press release. "It's a really smart score that makes you want to act silly."

The musical will show at Newmark Theatre, 1111 S.W. Broadway, Portland. It will run through Feb. 18. Tickets range from $18 to $32 for adults and $14 to $28 for children. Discounts are available for groups of eight or more.
