Tigard girls fare well in Metro slalom ski race


The Tigard High School girls ski team turned in some fast times at the Metro League slalom race held Saturday at Timberline.

Avery Branen led the way for the Tiger girls. She finished in eighth place in the individual standings for the event with a two-run total time of 1 minute, 30.29 seconds.

Tigard’s Marina Predovic wasn’t far off the pace, as she placed 11th with a mark of 1:33.48. Also for the Tigers, Kaitlyn Worthley finished in 20th place with a time of 1:52.02.

For the Tigard boys, Justin Moss finished in 12th place with a two-run time of 1:28.28. Tayler Mills placed 21st with a mark of 1:49.81.

The Three Rivers League, which includes Tualatin and Sherwood, had its slalom event scheduled for Saturday at Mt. Hood Meadows cancelled due to weather issues.
